Jump Right In played at The Man of Kent, East Peckham, Kent.
The iconic Man of Kent has been recently reopened and reinvigorated as a destination pub. The riverside gardens are the perfect place on a warm summer’s evening for a drink and a bite to eat followed by live music
For this gig we recruited the highly experienced harmonica player Jim James. So, Jump Right In lined up with Neil Rigby (vocals / guitar), David Lofts (vocals / guitar), Jim Jamesr (harmonica / vocals), Steve Nicholls (drums) and Geoff Trickey (bass).
It was a hot day, so the evening was perfect temperature wise.
We performed in front of the pub, which is a rather nice and intimate space to play in. Even better, members of the audience got the dancing going early, even doing The Stroll! Things got even more energetic in the second half with the Jive and Lindy Hop seen on the terrace! Jim James was fantastic with his melodic harmonica and he even sang a song as well as doing a fill in solo when David was waylaid! Talking about David, one of the highlights had to be his duck walk – not bad for someone who’s just recovered from a bad back!
All-in-all The Man of Kent is a lovely location with the river running next to it and the building dates back to 1588, just mind your head on those beams!
