Jump Right In played at The Pig & Sty, Bethersden, Kent.
The Pig & Sty, Bethersden is an attractive Grade II listed public house, set in the beautiful Kent countryside. There’s a large garden at the back with covered dining areas. The village fete was on in the garden which has a children’s playing area. It’s also worth noting it’s dog-friendly and even has a doggy menu!
The Pig & Sty is a good all-year-round destination pub with its restaurant, heated terrace and large garden and cosy bar with open fires in the winter,
There’s the famous Rocking Horse room, designed by the Stevenson Brothers – makers of the finest rocking horses for over 40 years – which you can hire for events, parties etc.
Depping for this gig we had the ubiquitous Pete Billing on bass and Dov Skipper on drums, so we were in safe hands! So, the Jump Right In line up was as follows: Neil Rigby (vocals / guitar), David Lofts (vocals / guitar), Jim James (harmonica / vocals), Dov Skipper (drums) and Pete Billing (bass).
It was a lovely warm afternoon with a full garden and the Village Fete in full swing. We performed on the terrace in front of the garden, at the back of the pub. Members of the audience got dancing with some Jiving seen!
Lastly, a shout out to Adam from Keep Calm and Book Us who was the children’s entertainer for the afternoon – great stuff on the washboard and his 8 foot 5 dancing bear is quite a sight to see – you certainly can’t miss it!
